Why Medicine & Physiotherapy Argentina?
Argentina is a country whose vast expanse of land is rich with breathtaking scenery and diverse landscapes. From its extensive coastline, to its colourful deserts, to its beautiful glaciers, to the stunning Andean mountains, Argentina has been blessed by nature in almost every way possible. Although it has maintained its South American traditions, there is a strong European influence present in Argentinean culture. For over a century, Buenos Aires has been an eclectic mix of Italians, Basques, Welsh, English, Ukrainians as well as others. The result of this is that foreigners find it easier to relax as they are fairly inconspicuous.
Medical Volunteering in Argentina
In the city of Cordoba you can help the doctors in their busy clinics or work in hospitals shadowing the staff on their daily rounds. You will get a great insight into medical practice and observe a variety of surgical procedures. You don't need any experience but you do need to be eager to learn. Whether you are fully qualified or about to start on a medical course we will tailor your placement to your ability. You will rapidly grow in confidence and knowledge.
Why Volunteer in a Medical Placement?
The medical projects we organise provide our volunteers with an incredibly interesting and eye opening experience. They are able to observe how the medical process works in a developing country, and more than that, they are actively involved in it.
Those who are looking to study medicine at university will find that by shadowing doctors and watching medical procedures they will learn a great amount on a placement and gain experience that would simply not be possible in their home country. The project is also open to elective students and depending on their level of experience it may be possible to assist on a practical level.
The doctors and nurses with whom the volunteers work really enjoy the cultural exchange that is brought by the volunteers and are more than happy for you to be involved in most aspects of their work in the hospital. This placement should be used as a wonderful opportunity to question doctors who are very willing to share their expertise and knowledge.
